Jefferson County has no separately identified sheriff-operated adult jail. WVDCR runs Eastern Regional Jail in Martinsburg and holds its booking, custody, movement, and release records. The sheriff's posted prices at the research date were $20 per report, $5 per page for associated pictures, or $20 per CD, subject to the available format. Ask the office for a current estimate. WVDCR should receive requests for ERJ or MCCJ movement and release records.
Court and Supervision Contacts
A court order may explain the legal basis for release, while a facility record supplies the physical movement. Parole and probation are also different. The West Virginia Parole Board decides parole matters; WVDCR Parole Services supervises parolees; the Judiciary supervises Jefferson probation.
